For these Visual Fiction pictures, I try to find ones that inspire me. I took this picture about 6am as I was driving to a port to go camping on a small island in Korea. This makes me think of a young sun, leaping over the horizon and bursting through the clouds with a shout. There are mornings of brooding and foreboding, but this one, even with the clouds, was a morning of joy and anticipation.
If this picture was on the cover of a book, what sort of story would it be? Let me know what you think in the comments.

I think it would make a good cover for a story of escape. Or redemption.

Yeah, I could see that.

The telephone lines make me think of communication, so combined with the sunrise, maybe something about misunderstanding and reconnection, release from some burden.

That’s very deep. And to think, I would have cropped out the telephone lines if I could have. ๐

I love that photo…….I can see it on the cover of a book that has a story leading up to a new beginning or the dawning of a new day in someone’s life, or some concept about how the future was brighter than it initialy appeared…….just some random thoughts……:)

I like the idea of the new beginning. Perhaps a travelling story. Someone has taken to the road, starting out alone. It might be an adventure story, it might be a mystery or thriller. Perhaps they are looking for something/someone.

I like the idea of an adventure/travel story, but then, I was traveling/adventuring when I took it, so it has that connection in my mind.

I look at that picture and I see: Surprise and wonder, darkness and light, a feeling of hope despite the darkness.. IDK.. I just love the picture. ๐ thanks for sharing.

That’s a good reaction. It’s kind of how I feel towards it too.
