This is not really a visual fiction, in that there is no story with it, but this is a shot from where I went this past week. I went by myself and hiked around, reading and writing as well. This picture was taken on the island of Hongdo, in the extreme southwest of Korea. It was the off-season for tourists, so I was totally alone on the paths, in the restaurants, in the hotels. Here, I sat on a bench and looked out at the Yellow Sea stretching out to meet the sky. The weather was warm (for February in Korea) and there were even insects out. I sat and wrote a bit here in a leather-bound blank book my parents gave me for my birthday. It was a good time.

Thanks a lot. Now I want to go. π

Someday, perhaps. We’ll see.

Beautiful.
February 24th, 2013 at 10:38 pm
It really was. I didn’t want to leave. I’ll share more pictures on Tuesday.
February 24th, 2013 at 11:01 pm
Looking forward to them.

Somehow I expect a monster to rise out of the deep. I’d say “Godzirra” but wrong country. Maybe because it’s Sunday morning and I just watched the SyFy movie last night, even though it wasn’t an icky bug (monster)movie. I’m still in the mode. It’s a pretty rugged coast from that shot, getting back to reality…

Well, with my posts, it’s a rare one that doesn’t have something like that happen. Of course, it’s a rare one that’s non-fiction, so there’s that. π

Nice shot! It’s almost like being there and relaxing.
February 25th, 2013 at 5:47 pm
That is a beautiful picture and view, David!
I’m glad that you enjoyed yourself on your trip! It really does look amazing through that picture π
February 25th, 2013 at 7:20 pm
I’ve got better ones than that I’ll put up tomorrow. π
March 5th, 2013 at 3:46 am
I can’t wait to see more of those pictures! Do you enjoy photography alot?
I do apologise I haven’t been online this past week and a bit I was actually ill. Could I have a link to the images since i’ve missed the post. Sorry to be pain.
March 5th, 2013 at 6:16 pm
Sorry you were sick. I hope you’re feeling better now. I’ve got a bit of something too, at the moment. Here’s the link to the post with all the other pictures: https://greenwalledtower.wordpress.com/2013/02/26/well-im-back-he-said/
I like photography, although I’m very much a dabbler. I need a better camera, for one thing.
March 6th, 2013 at 4:28 pm
I hope you get better soon too!
I like photograpghy as well. I mostly use my camera phone to take shots, because I don’t really have a proper camera. What do you use currently?
You should consider getting a proper camera and become a photographer! π
March 6th, 2013 at 9:00 pm
I have a little Sony point and shoot. It does what I need it to do. The main drawback is it doesn’t have as many manual functions. You can set the shutter speed and aperture, but only in a certain range. Someday though, I’ll get a really good one.
March 11th, 2013 at 7:48 am
As long as the camera does what you want it too; that is good.
I still have the phone that I used to use only because the camera works and sees everything I see. The camera on my new phone doesn’t work.
I really want to invest in buying a point and shoot camera as it will have much more features.
Someday we will definitely get a better camera! π
Have you ever thought about selling some pictures to travel agencies for their brochures? Because those pictures look amazing!
March 11th, 2013 at 10:50 am
Thank you. I hadn’t thought of selling my photos, but it’s an interesting idea.
If you have any pictures you want to share, put them up on your blog. I’d love to see them. π
March 12th, 2013 at 8:13 pm
I mostly take sky photos lol. Sure I’ll try and upload some I have to see which ones are the best to upload, because in some you get my shadow in the photo because the sun was behind me! π
February 25th, 2013 at 8:21 pm
Looks peaceful. The sea for company, the sun a mild blanket – best of all, no one and no human voices. I’ve spent such days before and always relished the moment.
February 25th, 2013 at 9:36 pm
It was great. I don’t think I’d want to go back there in peak tourist season when it would be crazy busy.
February 25th, 2013 at 9:18 pm
i wish i could sit there – simply sitting would have been enough
February 25th, 2013 at 9:37 pm
It was wonderful. I’m sure you would have loved it there. It was very peaceful.
February 25th, 2013 at 9:45 pm
i can assure you i would have! it looks so very peaceful!
February 25th, 2013 at 9:50 pm
Well, if you ever come to Korea, we can go there. π
February 26th, 2013 at 5:47 am
So nice that you got to do this for yourself, David. I’m extremely jealous. I hope you got a lot of writing done.
February 26th, 2013 at 11:19 am
I’ve heard others say they were jealous too. Well, I’m jealous of you for having kids. π I actually didn’t get a lot of writing done, since I find it hard to write fluidly on paper these days. However, I did work out all the plot problems for the time travel story and got the first part written. Hopefully next week. π
February 26th, 2013 at 12:24 pm
Well, if you have ever have kids you’ll see why I’m jealous. Are you going to have kids some day? That might throw me too, to not have a computer. Hopefully, you got some relaxing in. I can’t wait to read your story!!!
February 26th, 2013 at 1:38 pm
I would love kids, so hopefully.
